Meran

Meran - Inside

Short break - change of scenery

The Mediterranean, somewhat sleepy Merano has always fascinated young and old. During a leisurely stroll through the historic arcades and the Steinach district (old town), the numerous medieval witnesses will please. Strolling on the spa promenade, enjoying an aperitif, on the winter promenade a raster in the foyer with paintings from the 19th century, shaped by South Tyrol's best artists, invites you to linger and becomes an unforgettable experience.

Shopping

The Merano arcades, shopping mile and meeting point for medieval sights, invite you to shop.
Small, partly owner-managed shops, along with modern shops, delicatessen temples, boutiques, bars and pubs, shape the face of the old town.

The Tappeinerweg

Meran's most famous promenade

Donated over 150 years ago by the spa doctor Dr. Tappeiner, and named after him, the Tappeinerweg runs from the Powder Tower on the Küchelberg to Gratsch. On a footpath of approx. 3 km you will find a publicly accessible herb garden as well as sufficient viewing areas and resting benches, which offer an overwhelming view of Merano.
